Dynamic duo! hosts Dolly Parton And Garth Brooks drew laughter – and made the crowd blush – during their ACM Awards 2023 opening monologue.
Brooks, 61, opened the awards show on Thursday, May 11 in Frisco, Texas, paying tribute to some of the greatest country music stars of all time, or the GOATS of the industry.
He called George Straight “your hero and my hero” and highlighted the musical contributions of Johnny Cash, George Jones and Randy Travis before pointing out that the “king of country music” may actually be a woman due to longevity and superstar status.
“This woman is in the house today! Dolly Parton,” the “That Summer” singer yelled as his colleague gleefully stepped onto the stage with a real goat in a van.
The “Two Doors Down” singer joked, “I heard you say you were looking for a goat?” She then made an animal pun by saying, “I think someone should come and take her back! It was such a bad joke.

Garth Brooks, Dolly Parton.
Academy of Country Music Awards/Dick Clark Productions, lic.Parton’s jokes quickly turned sexier when the “Love Is Like a Butterfly” singer stated that before Brooks became a star, “people used to say that little old me was the two biggest stars in country music.” She pointed to her breasts, adding, “I’m milking her.”
The Wildflowers musician continued to put her co-host in the hot seat, telling the audience, “I saw you online telling all these nice people that I’m your ticket to the gym. And the fact that I am Trisha (Yirwood) also passes the hall!”
Parton then realized, jokingly, that Brooks’ use of the word “GOAT” actually meant “Gart, arrange a threesome!”
Silent Brooks eventually took the microphone, saying Run Rose Run co-writer: “I thought I couldn’t love you anymore! I’m blushing that I’m working with Dolly.
The couple previously gave fans a glimpse of their playful dynamic a month before the awards ceremony by sharing a teaser of the event on social media.
“There’s a first time for everything, @GarthBrooks 💛” – Parton signed video on twitter On April 18, she and her colleague hang out in the dressing room. We’re hosting @ACMawards – May 11th at @PrimeVideo! #ACMawards.
in promo, steel magnolias the star hyped up her stage partner, who was a little nervous before the show. “Whoo, don’t you look handsome! Are you ready for our big night? “Jolene” singer asked Brooks, to which he replied, “Yeah, to be honest, I’m a little nervous.”
While the “Dance” singer admitted it was his “first time,” Parton teased that she’d been in the block once or twice. (She took ACM two more times in 2000 and 2022, respectively.)
“Personally, I’m going to make this the best night of your life,” she joked, prompting the “Friends in the Lowlands” singer to ask if they were talking about “hosting” an awards ceremony rather than something sexier.
The Dollywood founder assured him that she was being strictly professional before telling Brooks to “look at me… over here” if he had any problems.
“Over here, yes, ma’am,” the Oklahoma native said with a laugh, making sure she was looking into Parton’s eyes and not into her chest.
Earlier this month from 9 to 5 alum and her colleague spoke to Prime Video to promote the event — and confirmed how much they love this musical genre.
“I’m so country, I can’t do anything but be country,” Parton, who was recently inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, said on May 4.
Brooks agreed, saying, “I don’t think there’s anything like inhaling and exhaling than listening to or playing country music.”
