Doha Downtime: Jack Grealish and Declan Rice show off their skills by the pool as the England stars enjoy a day off in the Qatari sun after securing a World Cup quarter-final spot against France.

England stars are enjoying some downtime after sealing their place in the World Cup quarter-finals with a 3-0 win over Qatar.

Gareth Southgate’s team are pictured playing a game of pool and recovering before they begin preparing for their quarter-final clash with 2018 winners France on Saturday.

Captain Harry Kane was playing basketball in the pool, while Jack Grealish and Declan Rice were caught kicking the ball at each other in the outdoor pool.

Harry Maguire and Jude Bellingham relaxed around the pool in the Doha sunshine while some of the squad took to spin bikes to recover their muscles.

Luke Shaw, Bukayo Saka and Nick Pope were some of the players who opted to jump on the bike on their recovery days.

The entire team also went on mats around the pool and some even did some extra work indoors.

The Three Lions are expected to return to full training tomorrow as they begin preparations to face their toughest test yet in France.

England entered the tournament among the favourites, and showed little to suggest that they still should not, scoring 12 goals in four games through eight different players.

They have also managed to keep three clean sheets in a row, which bodes well, although France are firing on all cylinders, especially their star man Kylian Mbappe.

All eyes are now on making it to the last four of the premier tournament in Qatar on Saturday.
