Jeremy Renner posted a new recovery update to his Instagram Story on Friday, thanking the ICU team who helped start his healing journey.
The Marvel star, 52, has remained in the intensive care unit of his hospital since his devastating snow plow accident on January 1.
Rainer was crushed to death by a seven-ton snow plow on New Year’s Day as he was working to free a trapped family member from the snow covering his Lake Tahoe ranch.
Jeremy Renner, 52, posted a new recovery update to his Instagram Story on Friday, thanking the ICU team who helped start his healing journey.
“Thank you to the legendary Medical ICU team for starting this journey,” the Hawkeye star captioned a photo of him in his hospital bed surrounded by the ICU medical team.
This latest recovery update follows a video that Jeremy posted to social media on Thursday from his ICU bed.
In his video, Rainer had a bruise under his eye and it appeared as his sister was massaging his scalp and joking: ‘You’re so sexy.’
The Hawkeye actor slurred his words as he replied that it was his first shower and he’s “definitely weak or something.” gross.’
He captioned the video: ‘A “not great” ICU day turned into amazing spa day with my sister and mama. Thank you very much.

The actor, who was left in critical condition following the accident, has undergone two surgeries in which metal pins have been placed around his leg. A source told dailymail.com that as of Tuesday he was awake and talking.
At the time, he posted a picture of himself in his hospital bed with visible bruises on his face and thanked well-wishers for their ‘kind words’.
‘Thank you all for your kind words. I (sic) am too groggy to even type now. But I send love to all of you.
Authorities have said that Reiner tried to use his 14,330-pound snow plow to free a family member from a personal vehicle that was stuck in the snow.
The actor got out of the vehicle to speak with an unidentified family member, during which, Washoe County Sheriff Darrin Balam said, “It appeared that PistonBully [snow plow] Started rolling.

He tried to get back into the vehicle, but it soon fled, Balaam said at a news conference Tuesday afternoon.
A subsequent 911 call indicated that the right side of the actor’s chest collapsed and his upper torso was crushed.

Injuries to his chest and torso reportedly made it difficult for the Marvel star to breathe before he was taken to a nearby hospital from the scene of the accident around 10 a.m. Sunday near his home in the Reno area.

Neighbors tried to help Rainer immediately afterward, the sheriff said, coming out with towels and giving him first aid — but none of them were doctors.
Bilam said that the police do not suspect any foul play, nor do they doubt that Rainer was impaired at all at the time.
The Sheriff’s Department is currently investigating the accident and has taken possession of the snow plow.
Rainer spoke to emergency services just before 10 a.m. local time before being airlifted to a nearby hospital.

Rainer’s snow plow was driven with a weight of approximately 14,330 pounds.

Rainer’s family was visiting for New Year’s celebrations, but the high-altitude hamlet near Mount Rose, Nevada, where he lives, was buried under five feet of snow. Residents were without power and water for two days when the accident occurred on New Year’s Day.
Rainer — who has his own fire trucks, plows and other heavy machinery — brought out a snowcat on the morning of January 1 to help clear some of the snow.
‘He had some family here. His nephew was with him. A source who has known Rainer for many years told dailymail.com: ‘He closed the mountain because everyone skied.
‘He was just plowing the road to go snow skiing. He passed out and then the machine took off. The machine jumped out of gear. And then he did something to try to get into it and he got caught and he ran over it.
Renner is best known for his role as Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
He has suffered a lot of injuries but he is fine now. He’s speaking and all, though he has some recovery to make. They put a pin in his leg,’ said the source.
Two neighbors said he was operated on at Renown Regional Medical Center, known as the best hospital in northern Nevada with top orthopedic specialists.
The source said conditions peaked this weekend at their $3.25 million home off Mount Rose Highway near downtown Reno.
‘Two days ago [the snow] was five feet deep, its workers had to go inside,’ he said. ‘They haven’t had electricity since 4 pm on Saturday.’
tmz previously reported that the safety features of Rainer’s snowcat failed and caused it to roll onto Rainer’s foot, about a mile from his home. The machine was produced by the German manufacturer Kaasbohrer.
Snow Cat is currently in the possession of the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office.
Renner plays Hawkeye, a fast-paced member of the superhero Avengers squad in Marvel’s sprawling film and television universe.
He is beloved by fans across the country, and especially children in Washoe County, who over the years have seen the celebrity around the area and when he attends local events.
He scored back-to-back Oscar nods for The Hurt Locker in 2010 and The Town in 2011. His portrayal of a bomb disposal expert in Iraq in The Hurt Locker helped turn him into a household name.
The Avengers cemented him in 2012 as part of Marvel’s grand storytelling ambitions, with his character appearing in multiple sequels and receiving his own Disney+ series Hawkeye.
