King James, his queen and their royal court. LeBron James is one of the best players in the NBA and is doing his best to be a champion father off the court.
“The craziest thing is that all my life I grew up resenting my father,” said the Los Angeles Lakers player. Paternal in October 2018 on how his own upbringing has influenced the way he raises the three children he shares with his wife. Savannah James: LeBron Jr. aka Bronnie, Bryce and Jury.
“It was all like F-k pops, he dumped me. Why did he do this to my mom?” he recalled. “My mom was sixteen years old, she was a sophomore in high school when I was born to her. And I thought, “If I ever meet him, we (fight) will fight right away.”
However, as he got older, LeBron began to look at the situation from a different perspective. “I started to understand and think to myself, ‘Damn, what was he going through? Were these things he couldn’t control?” the basketball champion continued. “He is the reason I became the father I am today. Because I always wanted to set an example and have a father figure in their lives so they never have that resentment.”
A month later, LeBron explained that being a father changed his attitude towards everything in life, including the time spent on the court. “I’ve learned to get the most out of my three kids, I can’t treat everyone the same because they all have different personalities,” the Ohio native said during a November 2018 speech on The Tim Ferris Show podcast. “They’re all different and I had to figure out how to get each of my kids to get the same results but teach them differently and it’s like being the leader of a basketball team or a franchise.”
He continued, “The main thing is patience. When I talk about patience, it brings me back to being a father… You can’t go and say, “This is how I will lead.” It comes back to the patience with which you study their thinking, how you can get the most out of them, what motivates them to be the best and what motivates them not to be the best. You will learn it in time.”
LeBron’s supportive approach to parenting is likely to continue even after his eldest son, Bronnie, enters the world as an adult. “My last year (in the NBA) I will spend with my son. said the sportsman Athletic in February 2022. The teenager is expected to become a first-round NBA draft pick when he qualifies and will likely start playing professionally in the 2024-2025 season.
“Wherever Bronnie is, there I will be,” LeBron continued. “I would do my best to play with my son for one year. In this case, it’s not about the money.”
