Shutterstock (2)So close, but so far! Mike Tindall had the honor to attend King Charles III coronation with wife Zara Tindall – but he has one main complaint about the ceremony.
“You are in the hottest spot, but it all happened around the corner of a wall that you cannot see!” Princess Anne The 44-year-old brother-in-law said during the May 18 episode of his “The Good, the Bad and Rugbypodcast.
A former professional rugby player and 42-year-old Zara, the king’s niece and daughter of the royal princess and ex-husband. Mark Phillips – sat one row behind Prince Harry, Princess Beatrice And Princess Eugenie for the May 6 event. Prince William And Princess Kateand meanwhile sat on the first bench with their children Princess Charlotte8, and Prince Louis5. The athlete explained that although he was still sitting quite close to the monarch and Queen Camillathe only way to see the coronation is to watch it unfold on screen.
“It was incredible to sit where we were. It’s very frustrating that you couldn’t see around the corner, but you had a TV there,” he said, noting that “everything was kind of back and forth,” and he was grateful for the opportunity to watch the story unfold.
“This is one of those moments,” he said during his podcast. “I think the best moment of the day was the six and a half hours of military footmen who were in the backyard of Buckingham Palace and they greeted the king three times – it was like goosebumps.”
Mike and Zara, who married in December 2010 and have three children, accompanied his relatives for most of the coronation weekend. The couple was first spotted at a late-night dinner. with other members of the royal family on May 5.
“It was really nice to have a date night,” Mike said during his May 12 appearance on good morning britain. “You know, when you have three kids, it’s not easy to go out and just have a drink together, so it was quite nice to have a little time where we could go out and have a drink and chat. . It was pretty sweet.”
The couple’s nighttime date lasted until the early hours of the morning, shortly before they were due to attend the 74-year-old monarch’s coronation ceremony at Westminster Abbey.
“Adil (Ray)never worry about tomorrow, enjoy the moment and you can tackle tomorrow later,” he joked. GMB presenter, defending his choice to attend the evening before an important day.
Mike later faced another major hurdle during his weekend when he attended the coronation concert on May 7th. The British native struggled to dance to the performances Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and other singers from the list of the best, but felt that he did not have enough.
“It’s very difficult when you’re on an elevated platform under bright lights, I felt like I didn’t really do my best in terms of (my dancing),” the former outside center joked during Good morning Britain. “If you started doing interesting dance moves on that platform next to the king, I’m not entirely sure it would work out that well!”
He added: “How hitch once said inWill Smith) movie “You gotta stay in your safe zone” and waving the flag, I was trying to do the best flag waving.”
