Prince Harry has claimed in his blistering memoir that he and William ‘begged’ their father Charles not to marry Camilla after Princess Diana’s death, fearing she would be their ‘wicked stepmother’.
She claims she and her brother won’t stand in the way of her father’s relationship, but was asked not to walk her down the aisle a second time, calling her ‘the other woman’.
The book claims Charles tried to ‘win over children’ before asking the public to accept Camilla. Harry said meeting her for the first time was like an ‘injection’ – ‘close your eyes and you won’t even feel it’, he said.
She said: ‘I remember wondering .. if she would be cruel to me; If only she were like all the wicked stepmothers in the stories’. He said: ‘Willie had long been suspicious of another woman, who confused and tormented him; When those suspicions were confirmed, he felt agonizing remorse for not doing or doing anything earlier.

Charles and Camilla married in 2005. Harry claims William wishes he had said something to stop it
The Duke of Sussex’s book is released six days ago in Spain, and reveals he calls William his ‘archangel’ and ‘polar opposite’, before describing the moment he was told Princess Diana had died, MailOnline can reveal today.
The Duke of Sussex has accused his older brother of being aggressive during Megxit, claiming their relationship has become so strained and damaged that the Prince of Wales will only ‘shout’ at him.
Harry revealed he had a secret meeting with William and Charles hours after Prince Philip’s funeral in April 2021 – close to the graves of King Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson – but said his father and brother would not listen to him and claimed not to understand why he had emigrated.
His attacks on William and Charles are revealed at the beginning of the Spanish edition of his book ‘Spare’. There the book is called ‘En la Sombra’, which translates as ‘In the Shadow’, and begins with the dedication: ‘To Meg, Archie and Lily … and of course, My mother’.
The book is not due to be published until Tuesday morning, but it appears to have been quickly published overseas, with various excerpts being leaked to the left-wing press.
MailOnline can reveal today that the first chapter begins after Prince Philip’s funeral in April 2021, where he describes visiting his father and brother in the grounds of Windsor Castle, close to Frogmore Cottage, where the Sussexes live in the UK Huh.
Harry, who he calls his brother ‘Willie’, says he came to the UK to bid farewell to Prince Philip, but also requested a ‘secret meeting with my older brother and my father’. He also revealed that his grandmother the Queen had called him in America to tell him: ‘Harry… Grandfather has passed away’.
The prince describes waiting close to the graves of former King Edward VIII and his wife Wallis Simpson, for whom he abdicated the throne, and wonders what they must have thought of his falling out with his family.
But Harry says that as soon as he saw William and Charles enter the gardens, he said he knew they were there for a ‘duel’ rather than reconciliation. He claims that she interrupted him every time he tried to explain.
He wrote: ‘I looked at Willie, really looked at him, perhaps for the first time since we were little, taking in every detail: his familiar face, which had always been the model of his behavior with me’.
She said her brother’s baldness was ‘dangerous’ and ‘advanced compared to mine’ and added that their mother’s resemblance had ‘faded’.
Describing his brother, who was once his best friend, as his ‘polar opposite’, he said: ‘My dear brother, my archenemy, how did we get to this? I felt extremely tired. I wanted to go home’.
Harry then accused William and Charles of effectively gaslighting him, denying that he understood why he and Meghan had moved to America. Harry said of Frogmore Cottage: ‘Willie, it was supposed to be our home. We were going to spend the rest of our lives here’.
William replied: ‘You’re gone, Harold’. Harry said: ‘Yes, and you know why’, and his brother replied – not honestly. Harold…not really.’.
Then Harry turned to Charles ‘who was looking at me with an expression that said, ‘Me neither.’
He said that he felt that they did not know him and were not in a position to listen to him.
