Prince William And Princess Kate welcomed their third child in April 2018. “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to announce that they have named their son Louis Arthur Charles,” a tweet from Kensington Palace said at the time. “The child will be known as HRH Prince Louis of Cambridge.”
Louis has joined his older siblings Prince George, born in July 2013, and Princess Charlotte, born in May 2015, in the royal line of succession. After the death of Queen Elizabeth II’s great-grandmother, Louis was fourth in line to the British throne. (He sits one seat above his younger brother William, Prince Harry.)
In April 2019, the young royal melted hearts with his adorable first birthday portrait as he smiled at the camera of his mother, who snapped the picture. Later that year, Louis made many funny faces during his first appearance on the balcony of Buckingham Palace, waving to the audience along with Charlotte from one of the windows of the building.
Louie got creative in the second round of birthday photos in 2020. The then two-year-old boy was depicted playing with rainbow-colored paint that ended up smeared across his face. “Share a quick look at Prince Louis’ handicrafts ahead of his second birthday! 🎨,” his parents teased on Instagram.

He later joined his parents and siblings for the royal procession back to Buckingham Palace, during which he was again seen yawning.
Louis showed his goofy side even further during his first royal appearance with the 3rd Upton Scouts later that month. While doing his part of The Big Help Out, a volunteer event that was held in honor of Charles’s coronation, the toddler roasted marshmallows to make s’mores with his family. He began to chew on some delicious treats and circled around with a blissful expression on his face.
“I think it’s safe to say that Prince Louis is a big fan of digestive biscuits and smores, just like his father,” he said. Twitter user posted in response to a viral video.
