Ryan Seacrest will not be ignored.
“Live With Kelly & Ryan” Co-Host Claims Kelly Ripa that Andy Cohen ignored him during his talk show on Tuesday While both were protesting last week’s New Year’s Eve special.
Seacrest hosted ABC’s “Dick Clark’s New Years Rockin’ Eve”, which was apparently taped less than 10 feet from the CNN New Years Eve special, which Cohen hosted with Anderson Cooper.
“It was funny because my big stage was right in front of Anderson and Andy, and so when I wasn’t working, I was trying to get their attention,” Seacrest said. “I thought maybe I was in the shot. I just wanted to wave and say hi. You know, they have a great show.
Seacrest said that Cooper turned around and waved to him, saying, “How you doing?” and “put on a good show” – which was a move Seacrest described as “class”.
“Andy didn’t turn,” Seacrest added like it was a punchline.
Ripa, who is a friend of Cohen’s, quickly dismissed Seacrest’s version of the story.
“That’s not true,” Ripa said non-stop. “He said he was trying to get your attention.”
Seacrest appeared slightly taken aback by Ripa’s remarks, but still insisted on his opinion that he had been disrespected.
“Really? I’m like, ‘Hey, it’s me. Guys, it’s me. Put me in your shot. Put me in your background,'” Seacrest said.
Cohen responded to the allegation on Wednesday’s episode of SiriusXM’s “Andy Cohen Live,” stating that Seacrest “has a bug” about him and that he had no intention of brushing him off.
Cohen also blames Cooper, saying that he and Cooper have an arrangement – if one of them sees Seacrest and waves on New Year’s Eve, they tell the other to do the same.
“Usually what Anderson would do … if he’s waving at Ryan, he’d say to me, ‘Hey, there’s Ryan,'” Cohen said. “…and then I’ll turn around and wave or I’ll say, ‘There’s Ryan,’ but [Cooper] Has not done this.
Cohen then felt the need to confirm this silly ritual with Cooper by calling him live on his SiriusXM show.
Cooper, who was reluctant to get involved in this petty situation, reluctantly confirms that he forgot to remind Cohen to wave. Cooper explained that Cohen was engaged when he made eye contact with Seacrest and had the opportunity to shake his hand.
“You were talking,” Cooper told Cohen. “You were involved [with] some manufacturers.
Cooper said he believed Cohen had confessed to Seacrest on his own and that the whole situation “happened so fast” and “it was no big deal.”
Seacrest and Cohen have been trading jabs for some time now.
Both hosts worked the same New Year’s Eve last year, but cooper and cohen had a little too much to drinkwhich caused Cohen to say some sorry things Live on Air – Including pointing to ABC’s “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” taping and referring to it as “Ryan Seacrest’s bunch of losers”.
Cohen later apologized for the disagreement, but his loose lip impressed CNN enforce prohibition on their hosts during last weekend’s broadcast. It was a move that Seacrest recently said was probably a “good idea”.
Seacrest said, “I don’t advocate drinking when someone is on the air.” Entertainment Weekly Last week. “I don’t know how this started as a tradition, but it’s probably a good idea [to scale back]CNN.
